WILLIAMSBURG — After collectively recording a number of game-changing plays in the William & Mary football team’s 37-7 victory against UAlbany, the entire Tribe team was selected as the Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Players of the Week.
A trio of Tribe standouts – Josh Miller, Stephon Hicks and Xavier Dillard – blocked punts that resulted in safeties, and holder Joey Tomasso found the end zone with a 5-yard touchdown run on a fake field goal.
Additionally, punter Carter Boyd pinned UAlbany inside its own 20-yard line with three of his four punts, including two inside the 10 and one downed at the 1-yard line, while the Great Danes did not total any return yards on the Tribe’s 10 kickoffs/punts.
