Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins told Missourinet that there’s a wide range of issues on the ballot during Tuesday’s election.
“There’s not elections everywhere in the state of Missouri, but there are some important elections that will be taking place on a lot of local levels,” said Hoskins.
In Jefferson City, voters will decide whether to renew a 7% lodging tax that funds tourism and event sponsorships — while Springfield voters will weigh a 3% tax hike to support a proposed $175 million convention center. And Independence voters are set to decide whether they want to continue to have a four-day school week.
Hoskins told Missourinet that he doesn’t expect high turnout for Tuesday’s election.
