TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Two Buhl High School seniors raised more than $12,000 for The Safe House through a charity golf tournament, far exceeding their initial goal of $4,000.
Stori Poppay and Noah Penman organized the fundraising event at Clear Lake Country Club in Buhl as their senior class project. The Safe House is a Twin Falls group home that serves young people ages 12 to 17 who have been abused, neglected or have experienced homelessness.
“There was something about this place that I was really really drawn to it,” Poppay said. “I liked what it stood for, I liked the age group that it helped, I loved everyone in it, Val especially, I really fell in love with the place.
