BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — On Monday, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints opened its doors to the media to give tours of the new Burley Idaho Temple, KMVT got an inside look at it.
The church first broke ground on the temple in Burley in the Summer of 2022 and completed it earlier this year.
General Authority Seventy Elder K. Brett Nattress explained that a temple is different than their churches, as it’s where more sacred ceremonies are held.
“It’s the house of the Lord, and the highest sacraments, the highest ordinances in the church are performed within the temple,” Elder Nattress said.
This includes baptisms, as well as marriage ceremonies. The temple stands at 172 feet tall, 43,300 square feet, and sits on a property size of 10.12 acres—the interior features include d
