KINDER, La. (KPLC) - The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall is making a visit to Southwest Louisiana this week, allowing residents to pay respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Vietnam War ended 50 years ago, but those killed or missing in action are not forgotten.

Veterans like Alfred Cochran, who served for one year, said the memories are still with him.

“The traumatic parts of Vietnam I’ve long ago suppressed. I put them on a shelf and filed them away, and I really don’t want to go back to them,” Cochran said.

Each name listed on the Vietnam Wall paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting for our country during the war.

The names of more than 58,000 service members are now forever etched in the wall.
