LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Local Emergency Planning Committee is working on its annual chemical emergency response plan. They are asking for the public’s help and input on it before it is submitted to the state.
Calcasieu Parish is home to plenty of jobs that are tied to the safe manufacture and transportation of potentially hazardous materials.
said, “A large industry presence here within Calcasieu Parish, we just have the citizens concerned. So, we’re all wanting to be able to address any of their concerns.” Jared Maze, Director of the Calcasieu Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security (OHSEP), said.
Officials stressed it’s incredibly important for residents to have an action plan in place, just in case something goes wrong.
