JEFF DAVIS PARISH, La. (KPLC) - Coushatta authorities confirm the home of Tribal Chairman David Sickey was shot over the weekend.
Around 11 p.m. on Nov. 2, Coushatta Tribal Police were called to Sickey’s home to investigate an “act of violence perpetrated against the Chairman and his family,” Coushatta officials said in a news release.
Investigators said an unknown suspect fired a gun at Sickey’s home. The bullet went through his child’s bedroom window, near where the child was sleeping.
No injuries were reported, and the bullet was recovered by law enforcement, Coushatta officials said.
The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, Coushatta Tribal Police, and federal agencies are investigating the shooting.
Law enforcement asks anyone with information on the shooting to contact them.
