BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Bloomington Police Department will be holding a public information session on Thursday as part of its Tier 2 accreditation assessment.

The department is attempting to achieve Tier 2 accreditation through the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, said Bryce Janssen, Bloomington police spokesperson.

He said Bloomington police achieved Tier 1 accreditation in 2019, and earned re-accreditation in 2024.

"The current Tier 2 assessment represents the Department’s continued commitment to professional excellence and adherence to the highest standards of law enforcement practices," Janssen said.
