WASHINGTON, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) -- The Washington Panthers couldn't wait to start the girls basketball season.
They practiced at 5:30 a.m. Monday, the first day of practice around the state. The Panthers return all five starters from a team that finished third in class 3A last season.
"I'd say I'm starving," senior Dani Guedet said when asked if she was hungry for the season to start.
Guedent, Avery Tibbs, Rebecca McDougall, Adriene Donald and Mazzy O'Brien are the starting five that took Washington to a 36-2 record last year. The hope practicing early on the first day is a good start to a year they hope will finish at state on the last day of the season.
"I want to have a record-breaking season and I know that a lot of my teammates do," said Guedet, who is committed to play at Valparaiso
