FAIRFAX, Iowa (KCRG) - A Fairfax man faces charges for allegedly stealing a trailer worth $6,500.

52-year-old Harry Meader, of Fairfax, was charged with second-degree theft in connection to a trailer reported missing earlier this year.

Police found the trailer on Meader’s property, hooked up to his vehicle. Officers found several items inside the trailer that Meader said belonged to him.

Meader claimed he was borrowing the trailer to move to Illinois.

The trailer was reported stolen from West Branch on May 5.
