EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - No. 22 Michigan State men’s basketball opened its season with an 80-69 victory over Colgate on Monday night.

The Spartans had four guys score in double figures, and two MSU players finished with double-doubles.

MSU’s senior forward Jaxon Kohler led the Spartans in scoring with 16 points. Kohler also added 15 rebounds. Jeremy Fears Jr. totaled up 14 points, 10 assists, and five steals.

Coen Carr went five for nine from the field for 12 points and four boards. Carson Cooper also scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in MSU’s win.

No. 22 Michigan State men’s basketball hosts No. 14 Arkansas on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. ET.
