RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — North Carolina officials announced Monday that a contractor was chosen to repave heavily used north Raleigh roads, including Glenwood Avenue.

The N.C. Department of Transportation said that repaving nearly 7 miles of roads will cost about $3.8 million.

Blythe Construction Inc. was awarded the contract for the resurfacing, which includes all lanes of Glenwood Avenue from Wade Avenue to near Interstate 440, according to an NCDOT news release.

The project also includes "upgrading" the Wade Avenue to Glenwood Avenue ramp, officials said.

The other key part of the contract includes repaving about 4 miles of Lead Mine Road from Century Drive to Old Lead Mine Road.
