TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Southwest Gas crews are responding to a gas leak on the southwest side this evening following a reported home demolition.
A property on West Box R Street, which is north of South Kinney Road, is the source of the leak, which has now been turned off, according to Southwest Gas. A man, who identified himself as the homeowner, told News 4 Tucson the leak came when the gas line was struck during the demolition of an old home.
Southwest Gas provided News 4 Tucson with the following statement:
“Southwest Gas crews responded to a leak caused by a third-party near W Box R St. in Tucson, AZ. The safety of our customers and the people living in the communities we serve is our priority. Southwest Gas crews have turned gas off to begin repairs . . .”
