HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Families in Holyoke gathered to support local teachers at a meeting before the Holyoke School Committee, as contract negotiations continue.

Parents and teachers are advocating for a fair contract that addresses concerns such as healthy and safe schools, competitive salaries, and class size caps. Negotiations have been ongoing since February, with the next bargaining session scheduled for November 13th.

"My sons have had teachers leave in the middle of the year," said Patrick O'Connor, a parent of Holyoke Public Schools. "We have to value our teachers, and you value them by giving them the contract they're asking for."
