SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - South Dakota women’s basketball took care of business in its season opener Monday night, defeating NAIA York University (Neb.) 104-33.
It’s South Dakota’s 45 th home-opening win in 55 seasons of women’s basketball, and the eighth in 10 home openers inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
The Coyotes are also now 38-17 in season openers.
The 104 points scored are the most for the Coyotes under head coach h Carrie Eighmey .
Three Coyotes scoring in double figures as all 14 Yotes who played, scored.
Elise Turrubiates was the lone starter to score in double figures, pouring in 16 on 5-10 shooting and 6-6 from the free throw line.
She also had six rebounds and four assists.
Katy Reyerson also scored 16, a new career-high for the transfer from
