SPOKANE, Wash. — SNAP benefits are coming, but not on time for the 40 million Americans who rely on them.

The Trump Administration agreed to partially fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program after a judge on Saturday ordered the USDA to distribute the contingency funds.

Despite the ruling, the Department of Agriculture says disturbing those funds could be held up by as much as two weeks.

Analysts say roughly 18% of low-income households will be directly affected, and most will be children. Nationally, kids make up 40% of those who rely on SNAP benefits. About 20% are older adults.
