PORTLAND, Ore. — The Trump administration announced Monday it will partially fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, through November, following federal court rulings requiring the payments to continue.

With uncertainty still surrounding how much assistance families will receive and when the aid will come through, volunteers at Portland nonprofit Feed the Mass are preparing to fill the gap. Feed the Mass has helped the community during past emergencies — from COVID-19 to severe winter storms.

“It’s heart-wrenching,” said Development Director Tereka Robinson. “But I’m grateful we can provide.”
