KALAMAZOO, MI –– Bronco basketball is back at Read Fieldhouse.

Western Michigan opened their 2025-2026 season with a 76-71 win over Coastal Carolina on Monday, Nov. 3.

Western junior guard Jalen Griffith led the team with 15 points.

Both redshirt junior forward Max Burton and Trey Lewis added 14 points each.

Twenty-eight points came from the Bronco’s bench.

While the Broncos turned the ball over 15 times to the Chanticleer’s 13, they outpaced their opponent in both rebounds and assists.

WMU rebounded the ball 37 times. CCU rebounded the ball 35 times.

WMU assisted 13 times to CCU’s 10.
