RIDGELAND – The Ridgeland Fire Department is creating new opportunities for military veterans to continue their commitment to service — this time in the field of emergency response.
Led by Chief Jonathan Posey, a veteran who understands the challenges of transitioning to civilian life, the department has launched an Apprenticeship Program for Emergency Medical Technician–Basic (EMT-B) training. The initiative, supported by the Ridgeland Board of Aldermen and developed in partnership with the School of EMS and COMPASS, allows veterans to use their GI Bill benefits to complete EMT and paramedic training.
