SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - It’s Election Day, and polls are set to open at 7 a.m.
Election officials say they want to see more people at the polls since all 159 counties in the state have something or someone to vote for.
Early voting wrapped up Friday, and only 8.9% of registered voters in the state of Georgia turned out to vote.

In Chatham County, 8.1% showed up to the polls where the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or SPLOST, is on the ballot.
Last year, early voting turnout was much higher; however, even year elections normally attract more voters, especially given that the presidential election was on the ballot in 2024.
