It’s Nov. 4 Election Day and some 245 local elections are happening across the state, according to the S.C. Election Commission.
The Post and Courier will be following key races around the Charleston area, as well as municipal races across the state including in Columbia , Spartanburg and Greenville .
Polls open statewide today at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
Here’s what you need to know before heading to your polling location.
You can check your registration and find your polling place on the S.C. Election Commission’s website at scvotes.gov . At the top of the homepage, click the word "Voters." Then, click “Check Your Voter Registration” or “Find My Polling Place.” You can also contact your county voter registration office directly.
You must be a registered voter to cast a bal
