CHAPEL HILL — The wait was over and a weight was lifted, but UNC basketball ’s Luka Bogavac had to be patient for a bit longer as he stood by the scorer’s table inside the Smith Center.

Checking in at the 16:12 mark of the first half, Bogavac tried to enter the game before Seth Trimble attempted the first of two free throws. ACC referee AJ Desai had to stop the international prospect and send him back to the table for another minute. Then, finally, it was time.

One of the loudest cheers of the evening, along with a “Luka” chant, welcomed Bogavac onto Roy Williams Court for the first time as the 25th-ranked Tar Heels went on to roll Central Arkansas in a 94-54 win in the season opener.
