CLEVELAND, Ohio — Berea-Midpark’s passing game has soared for three straight weeks.
Now comes its toughest test of the season and Friday’s trip to First Federal Lakewood Stadium against St. Edward (8-2), the No. 1 seed in the OHSAA Division I, Region 1 playoffs. The eighth-seeded Titans (7-4) are in the regional quarterfinals after a 48-24 win Friday against Cleveland Heights, which could not contain an offense that produced 585 yards. Junior quarterback Dylan Papushak orchestrated much of it, throwing for 437 yards and seven touchdown passes, but he and his talented group of receivers will match up with a secondary that is led by Michigan State commit Brayden Thomas at safety, leading tackler Landon Lehmer at another safety and senior cornerback Makhi Boone, who has five interceptions
