INDIANAPOLIS -- Pascal Siakam was still sitting at his locker stall, trying to process yet another defeat in which he played brilliantly and nearly carried the wounded Pacers to a victory when he noticed second-year wing Johnny Furphy preparing to exit the locker room on a set of crutches.

The injury seemed to hit him with a wave of shock and he raised his arms as if to ask what happened before going over to talk to Furphy. In the midst of the Pacers' 117-115 loss to the Bucks on Monday on a buzzer-beating turnaround fadeaway jumper by two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo which dropped the Pacers to 1-6 on the season, Siakam hadn't had time to notice that two more Pacers players left the game with injuries and didn't return.
