QUINCY (WGEM) - Quincy Public Schools Board of Education announced Monday night, following a special meeting, the appointment of a new interim superintendent.
Lanty McGuire will assume the role January of 2026 and he will be succeeding Cal Lee, who has served since August.
McGuire will be paid $909 per day for a minimum of 88 days. Lee was being paid $1,000 per day for a minimum of 70 days. The school board said the difference in pay is a result from McGuire serving the new role for a longer period of time.
Lee said, “I have known and worked with Mr. McGuire since 2001 and have every confidence in his ability to lead our district.”
According to school board, McGuire has more than 35 years of experience in education. He had retired as superintendent of the Moline-Coal Valley School Dist
