GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Voters will head to the polls on Tuesday and make choices for dozens of important municipal races across the Triad.

In Greensboro, voters are deciding who will lead the city as mayor after Nancy Vaughan, the city's current mayor, announced that she would not seek reelection after more than a decade in the office.

Greensboro residents will pick between Mayor Pro Tem and longtime Councilwoman Marikay Abuzuaiter and former mayor Robbie Perkins, the top two candidates from October's primary vote.

Abuzuaiter's decision to run for mayor and the death of Councilwoman Yvonne Johnson late last year have left multiple council seats open, and incumbents are facing challengers.
