WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- It's about starting the day on the right foot, knowing you are enough and you belong.

"There's no better feeling than walking into school and seeing an 'I belong' sign right," 10th grader Nicholas Cruz said.

Nicholas Cruz and his peers teamed up at Conard High School in West Hartford to make sure everyone knows they belong.

"80% of our kids walk into this space. Where buses drop students off for the day ahead," Assistant Principal Lindsay Tringali said. "It did exactly what we set out to do, which was create that sense of belonging."

The beautiful wall has plenty of room for future students to leave their mark.

"I have good memories of us all working together, painting together, adding our own little creative mark," Junior Sophie Simon said.
