The Missouri men’s basketball team opened the 2025-26 season with an impressive 88-67 road win over Howard on Monday night — the program’s largest road victory in a season opener in 84 years. The Tigers built an early lead and never looked back, shooting 56 percent from the field and dominating the paint 46-16 while outrebounding the Bison 47-28.
Senior center Shawn Phillips Jr. made a strong debut for Mizzou, posting a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds on 8-of-9 shooting. Graduate guard Jayden Stone added 13 points, hitting three of four from beyond the arc, while Jacob Crews chipped in 10.
