At least four people are feared dead as a passenger train collided with a goods train near Bilaspur railway station in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday evening. About 20 people reportedly suffered injuries in the accident, and rescue operations are underway.
According to railway officials, the incident occurred around 4pm on Tuesday. The Korba passenger MEMU train rammed into a stationary goods train near Lal Khadan area on the Bilaspur–Katni section, railway officials said. Several coaches got derailed, and the overhead wires of the railway signalling system were damaged in the impact of the clash.
