Loud noises were heard in Ludlow at nearly midnight when hazardous materials were detonated after old, unstable chemicals were found Monday.
On Nov. 3, the Ludlow Fire Department responded to Fuller Street for a report of possible hazardous materials in a home. A resident told firefighters he was unsure how to dispose of old chemicals that he had in storage.
The Department of Fire Services’ Hazardous Materials Division and Joint Hazard Incident Response Team, State Police assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Ludlow Police Department, and the Department of Environmental Protection were requested to assist.
