NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — One of the three people facing charges in connection with the death of 11-year-old Jacqueline “Mimi” Torres-Garcia is expected in court Tuesday.
Jonatan Nanita was the boyfriend of the 11-year-old's mother, Karla Garcia, when Torres-Garcia allegedly died in their Farmington home in the fall of 2024.
Last month, he was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with evidence. Garcia and her sister Jackelyn Garcia are also facing charges.
Nanita is expected to appear in court on two charges Tuesday, including tampering with physical evidence and disposal of a dead body.
These were "newer" charges filed after the initial charges by New Britain police.
