KANSAS CITY, Mo. —

Firefighters contained a blaze Monday afternoon at a vacant house in the 3400 block of College Avenue.

The Kansas City Fire Department said crews arrived around 3:45 p.m. to find flames and smoke coming from the second floor. Advertisement

Firefighters used multiple handlines to knock down the fire and confirmed no one was inside.

No injuries were reported.

City inspectors with the Dangerous Buildings and Planning departments were called to the scene to assess the structure.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
