More Bay Area counties will decide on emergency funds for SNAP recipients as anxious families await partial benefit payments.

The Trump administration on Monday said it will pay out only about half of the SNAP benefits recipients rely on to buy food and other essential grocery items. Local foods organizations are trying to fill the gap.

In the South Bay, nonprofit Hunger at Home is stocking up to meet the spike in demand; in Contra Costa County, leaders will vote on to allocate up to $21 million for CalFresh debit cards; and in Marin County, supervisors will consider $800,000 in food assistance for its CalFresh recipients.
