Kolkata: Like the equity market, the equity derivative market in India is going through reforms. From December 8, 2025, NSE is launching a pre-open trading sessions will be introduced in the equity derivatives (F&O) segment. Experts point out that it will help in better price discovery and smooth market opening. NSE has said that the pre-open process will also help in increasing liquidity, improving price transparency and reducing volatility at the time of market opening.

Now pre-open sessions were limited to equities (cash markets), but now this feature will be available in the F&O market as well.
