A 78-year-old fire police officer, who was providing traffic control at a crash near Georgetown on Nov. 3, was critically injured after being hit by a car, Delaware State Police said.
The fire police officer, from Georgetown, was not named by police.
The officer, part of the Georgetown Fire Company, was providing traffic control at Lewes-Georgetown Highway and Shingle Point Road, as emergency crews were on the scene of a crash on the highway about 8:35 p.m.
