Iowa State University has revelead the first of two finalists for its open presidential position.
Benjamin Houlton , Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University in New York was named a finalist by the Iowa Board of Regents on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
He will visit campus on Wednesday, Nov. 5, to meet with faculty, staff, students and community members.
The second finalist will be announced on Wednesday and is scheduled to arrive in Ames on Thursday, Nov. 6.
President Wendy Wintersteen announced her intent to retire in May , the culmination of an Iowa State career that spanned 40 years. She is Iowa State's 16th president and the first woman to hold the university’s highest office.
Wintersteen plans to retire in January.
