After coming off a record-clinching win over Central Missouri, the Hornets returned home for a Homecoming matchup against the number 14-ranked Northwest Missouri Bearcats. The matchup would be a one-sided affair as the Bearcats would win in all phases to shut down the Hornets to the tune of 41-14, moving the Hornets to a 4-5 record overall.

The game started well for the Hornets as they got the first score of the game via a rushing touchdown from sophomore Diego Cearns, but that would be the only lead the Hornets would have during the game. The Bearcats would answer the Hornets' score with two touchdowns of their own before the first quarter ended, and that score would lead us into the second half.
