Six Naperville District 203 elementary schools earned exemplary status, the state’s highest recognition, according to the newly released Illinois School Report Card, and its 15 others were recognized as commendable, the second highest ranking.
The district’s overall proficiency is in the 99th percentile rank among all Illinois unit districts in English language arts, math and science, and at the top when compared with peer districts like Indian Prairie District 204, Barrington Unit District 220, St. Charles Unit District 303, Batavia School District 101 and Elmhurst Unit District 205.
Peer districts were selected because they have similar characteristics and demographics to Naperville, according to Patrick Nolten, District 203’s assistant superintendent for assessment and accountability.
