SEMMES, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police Department officers have arrested a woman after an alleged assault of a Semmes Police Department officer led to a deadly vehicle chase.

According to an SPD news release, officers were called to the Publix on Schillinger Road around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 for a report of a woman threatening employees with a weapon.

An officer arrived on the scene and found that the woman, now identified as 34-year-old Delyshia Molette, had left the store and was walking on Silver Pine Road, according to officials.

Molette allegedly left the area on foot, but the officer was able to catch up with her, which is when she scratched the officer's eye and bit his finger, according to police.
