OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A year after its groundbreaking, progress has been made on a new wastewater treatment facility in Okaloosa County.
Concrete has been poured as the new Shoal River Ranch Water Reclamation Facility begins to take shape.
The plant, which officials say will help treat more of the county's wastewater, is being built on 20 acres in Crestview.
The $40.8 million facility is funded through several sources, including federal and state grants, and will have future public access to reclaimed water for irrigation and industrial use and the ability to process 1.25 million gallon of wastewater per day with some components having a higher capacity and other features.
