Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) has resumed full flight operations after a security ground stop was lifted following the investigation of a bomb threat against a United Airlines flight that had arrived from Houston.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy provided a definitive update on the incident, confirming the nature of the security scare and the resolution of the immediate crisis.
“Earlier today a United flight from Houston to Washington D.C. received a bomb threat,” Secretary Duffy stated. “The flight landed safely at DCA, passengers were evacuated, and law enforcement conducted a full search of the aircraft. The FAA has received the all clear and operations have resumed.”
