San Diego State opens the 2025-26 men’s basketball season on Tuesday night with a game against Long Beach State at Viejas Arena.

This year’s team includes the Mountain West’s preseason player of the year (Miles Byrd) and preseason newcomer of the year (Elzie Harrington). Not surprisingly, SDSU is the unanimous choice to win the league.

Year: Redshirt sophomore

Breakdown: After flirting with the transfer portal and NBA Draft, the Mountain West freshman and defensive player of the year had knee surgery and is on track for a mid-November return.
