COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will change its website address next year.

The address change will offer additional assurance to customers that they are dealing with the legitimate state website.

On January 5 of 2026, the department will change its website address to dmv.sc.gov, with the agency email changing to the same domain.

The current URL scdmvonline.com will redirect customers to the new site.

officials say this comes after scammers sent out fake texts purporting to be from the SCDMV, often using addresses that are meant to mimic the official site.
