COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will move to a new website domain and email address in early 2026, a change officials say will help customers easily confirm they are engaging with the legitimate agency — not scammers.

Beginning January 5, 2026, the agency’s website will become dmv.sc.gov, with all agency email addresses shifting to the @dmv.sc.gov domain on the same date.

For at least the full calendar year, current URLs and addresses — including scdmvonline.com and @scdmv.net email — will automatically redirect and forward, ensuring customers won’t see any interruption in access.
