NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - With Halloween officially in the rearview, Metro Parks is looking ahead to Christmas.

The department is looking for the perfect tree for the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony this year.

They say it should be a 30 to 40-foot Norway Spruce.

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.

Metro Parks said it would be ideal if the tree were one that already needed to be removed because it’s too close to a home.

The city will remove the tree, take care of the stump and transport it to Public Square Park.

Submissions can be sent to Horticulturist Randall Lantz at 615-862-8400 or metroparks@nashville.gov . The deadline is Monday, November 17.
