A driver was arrested after he crashed in Huntington Park while being pursued by the Los Angeles Police Department Tuesday morning.

The driver, a shirtless man, tried to run on foot after the crash at Malabar Street and Gage Avenue just after 11:20 a.m.

He entered a nearby garage with a handful of officers on his tail, and he was brought out in handcuffs moments later.

The pursuit of an alleged robber wasn't a lengthy one — it began at 11:13 a.m. at 48th Place and Alameda Street, police said, — but it was eventful.

The man drove a white SUV through Huntington Park and Bell while attempting to elude officers, regularly traveling at freeway speeds on surface streets, even topping 100 miles per hour.
