ABBEVILLE, LA. (KLFY) -- A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested and charged with attempted murder and other offenses in connection to a shooting that occurred Oct. 18, police said.

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested during a traffic stop conducted in the 900 block of South St Charles Street on Monday, police said.

According to officers, they were dispatched to the area of East Martin Luther King Jr Drive and Schlessinger Street in reference to a complaint of the sound of gunshots in the area. After responding to the initial complaint, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Marmont Street in reference to a vehicle crash. When officers arrived to the scene, they located the vehicle and the driver, Jaylon Freeman, with apparent gunshot wounds. Freeman was transported to the local hospit
