The man charged in the Sept. 12 highway shooting death of Tanya Myers appeared briefly in Regina provincial court Tuesday.

Chris Fahlman, 42, is being held in custody and appeared by video. He is charged with manslaughter, careless use of a firearm, carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence and being in a vehicle knowing there's a firearm inside.

Myers, 44, was travelling in one of two vehicles that was hit by bullets while driving on Highway 39 just northwest of Weyburn on the evening of Sept. 12.
