Malik Reneau scored a game-high 20 points as Miami defeated Jacksonville 86-69 on Monday at Coral Gables, Fla., in the season opener for both teams.
Hurricanes freshman Shelton Henderson -- a five-star recruit -- scored 10 of his 15 points in the first half. Miami's Ernest Udeh Jr. scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds.
Tru Washington (12 points) and Tre Donaldson (11 points) also put up double-figure point totals for the Hurricanes.
