LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) - Voters showed up to Ironton Elementary School as the polls opened at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
This election year, there are five key levies that Ohioans will vote on:
Athens EMS levy
Meigs County 9-1-1 levy
Meigs County local school district levy
Eastern local schools levy
Lawrence County Developmental Disabilities levy -- which those in Ironton are voting on.
The Lawrence County DD provides services to assist children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Lawrence County homeowners already pay a yearly tax on the current levy. The new levy would run at the same time as the current one, meaning homeowners would pay for both.
